Biblical Life Skills Session
Small Group Discussion Classes
A Space to Discuss the Most Important Issues of Life.
We start with a portion of Scripture and find that it addresses a life topic with a spiritual principle.
For example:
Avoid Drifting from Faith,
Standing Strong when Others Aren't,
Handling Emotions,
Good Decision-Making,
Keeping the Body as the Temple of the Holy Spirit,
Relationships,
and many other issues
~We apply the Biblical principles to modern day real life
~We compare the topic in secular pop culture vs. the Bible
~We discuss concrete examples for the age group
~Students who desire to apply the principles are given a safe space to share if they wish
But just listening is a great way to learn, too!

1 Thessalonians 5:23
Why are we doing this?
Many adults struggle with attachments, habits, and decisions from their young adult years that hinder them as adults. In many cases there is guilt, frustration, inadequacy, a lack of direction, or feeling incomplete.
Educators have noticed that the emotional and social skills, character, and self-esteem of students are lacking. In response, they have developed learning skills programs to address this need. Many students are also referred to professionals for help on these issues.
Our goal at Complete Instruction is to PREVENT these problems.
There are true Biblical answers.
1-Transformation begins in the heart.
The only way students will accomplish these goals in full is through the transformational work in the heart, by the God of peace Himself (see above Scripture).
So the place to begin is to give an opportunity for your student to grow in a true relationship with the only one, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who can put our spirits, souls, bodies, and relationships aright.
The first goal of this class is to encourage students to have a full understanding at their age level of what it meant when they decided to become a Christian.
2- Transformation comes from a deep knowledge of God’s love.
We want to make sure every student is taught his or her place as created in the image of God and deeply loved by the Father.
Each person has a unique personality, giftings, and callings that are just waiting to unfold, be celebrated, and used to bring Him glory.
We strive to help each student see his or her matchless worth as a son or daughter of the king,
and respond to His love by bringing the kingdom of God to others in a powerful way.
3-Neglecting to follow Biblical life principles leads to negative results.
Our next goal is to teach children and teens these principles at a deep and practical level for their stage of development and why it is important to follow them; enabling them to grow as a Christian early in life.
If they can grow early in life, it will help them to avoid a lot of trouble and heartache. The goal is to encourage them to be kept COMPLETE in spirit, soul, and body until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Many versions have also translated this as “kept blameless”, or “preserved blameless”.
People who have given themselves to sinful actions and reaped the consequences can find themselves later feeling shame, guilt, a sense of being tainted and ineffective because of sin; and not complete as a person.
We would like to offer ways for your student to avoid this, and grow in the fruits of the Spirit instead, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
On the other hand, God can always heal, deliver, and restore; and we discuss ways to come to God for restoration in these situations as well.
4-Learning social, emotional, self-esteem & self-care, or relational skills as traditionally taught is only part of the answer.
We hear all kinds of messages in our lives. In Biblical Life Skills Classes, we will mention what secular sources generally have to say about these skills while comparing and constrasting them with Biblical directives.
We believe the most helpful variation of these answers really can be found in the Bible.
If you notice, the values of emotional and social learning programs are usually at least somewhat aligned with Christianity or its principles; but sometimes the practical application of skills as taught from non-Biblical sources does not align well with Christianity, and in some cases is actually opposed to it.
We would like to clarify which ways of dealing with life’s issues are Biblical and which “answers” might sound good but may end up being unhelpful or possibly lead
them in a wrong direction eventually.
5-Finally, we are in a spiritual battle.
Many problems that seem emotional, relational, etc. in nature have a spiritual foundation. There are physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual components to problems, but too often the spiritual side of the issue is not addressed beyond a general recommendation of prayer and Bible study.
We help your student understand that this world is indeed a battlefield and we challenge them to stand strong in the process to give glory to God. We discuss how to truly put on the armor of God, fight the good fight, stand against spiritual onslaughts, and be kept complete and blameless until the coming of Jesus.

What each session looks like:
Each of these small group sessions will include:
- Bible passage for the day
- Topic for the day
- The instructor giving some information on the topic
- At least one spiritual principle for spiritual growth for the day
- At least one practical personal, emotional, or relational principle for the day
- An opportunity to discuss common issues in the culture that relate to the topic.
- An COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY opportunity to discuss any specific issues the student would like to bring up. Sharing will be encouraged in a non-threatening way but the students that choose not to share can still learn from the discussion.
- An opportunity to ask questions throughout the class.
- Practical tips on putting what we have learned into practice.

For Families who wish to set their students on the best path!
Your instructor:
The instructor of Biblical Life Skills came to Christ at age 10 and was baptized at age 14, and has a heart for children and teens coming to the Lord at a young age. She completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Minors in Art and Music, as well as a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. She went on to work as a counselor in various clinics and private practice with children, teens, and families before leaving the field to homeschool her 3 children. She is now leading a homeschool co-op that has been in existence since 2010.
This instructor loves to help children and teens apply the Bible to every day life, and understand important principles about Scripture.
Students will be challenged to think deeply and commit their lives fully to the only One who is able to fully heal our spirits, souls, minds, and bodies.
